On May 13, 2016, the Montreal Diet Dispensary (Dispensary) held, with great success, under the presidency of Mr. Sean Finn, Executive Vice-President of Corporate Services and Chief Legal Officer, CN, the fourth annual Mother’s Day fundraising luncheon.  Thanks to our donors, partners and participants, the event raised mote than $73,000, funds which will support the efforts of the Dispensary to offer, to more than 1,000 pregnant women in need each year, access to social nutrition and thus help them give birth to, and raise, babies in good health.

The Dispensary took advantage of the event to shine a light on families who have benefited from its support and services for more than 60 years: thanks to the collaboration between 17 photographers and families, luncheon participants were able to enjoy this exclusive exhibition and were the first to purchase the wonderful companion calendar, profits from the sale of which will support the Dispensary. The photographs and family testimonials in the calendar are a realistic portrait of the work that comprises the heart of the Dispensary.  Henceforth the calendar will be available, at a cost of $20, at the Dispensary and it will soon be available online at the following link: Dispensary calendar.  Visit our Facebook page to see pictures of the event.

“We are very pleased with the success of this event. The Dispensary plays a crucial role in the lives of thousands of mothers who are able to offer the best start in life to their children, an important step, because it has a long term impact on their development” emphasizes Marie-Christine Lemerise, Chairman of the Board of the Dispensary. “The support of our partners and donors is essential in that it allows the Dispensary to continue to make a difference in the community”.

Hosted by Isabelle Pagé, businesswoman and media personality, the fundraising event, held at the Sheraton Centre Hotel in Montreal, brought together an audience of over 150 people.  The invitees enjoyed two musical performances, one by the singer, and Dispensary spokesperson, Marie-Elaine Thibert, and the other by Tishawna Callender, one of our talented Dispensary mothers.

The Dispensary thanks the sponsors who have made possible this fundraising event:
